They are the yachts of the extremely rich: Lürssen build yachts starting at a length of 60 meters. They are truly masterly premium products - the seventh sense in building yachts to perfection, as the company Lürssen Werft classifies itself. And besecke is involved. Founded in 1948, besecke has belonged to the Lürssen Group with a major stake in the company since 1989, and has been supplying switch gear and automation systems for the Lürssen yachts since 2004.
"My firm shall be known as the leader in both quality and performance", stated the company Lürssen in 1875. His offspring who are now in the fourth generation of this family run company have made this statement become the fundament of their global path to success.
The demands for innovation, individuality and technical perfection that are made by Lürssen as the ordering party are extremely high. Therefore, special things take place behind the facade of exclusive design.
Great advantages result from the fact that besecke delivers not only the automation on board of the yachts, but also the necessary switch gear systems. The most important bridge between the automation system and the power management system succeeded with the support of the Lürssen yacht developers. It has thereby been possible to offer the owners a clearly laid out system that is comfortable to operate, and at the same time one that meets the design and operational-comfort requirements.
The use of Lürssen's CAD-system by besecke belongs to the special quality of cooperation. While the ship's specific preliminary planning is being entered into the CAD-system, besecke is complementing this planning with the design of the automation and switch gear systems. Thereby, considerable effort regarding documentation and coordination between both companies can be dispensed with.
For besecke, belonging to the Lürssen Group has proven to be a success factor. Connected therewith, many new jobs have been created, and what almost appears to be more important: existing jobs have been secured.
From besecke's point of view, industrial training and apprenticeships show how good cooperation can function. Through the cooperation with other companies of the Lürssen Group, shipyard and industrial-specific knowledge are imparted in practice to electronic technicians and engineers specialising in the field of power and building services. Even the choice of candidates who come into question is jointly made. A knowledge and aptitude test based on the tests already conducted at both companies has been developed.
